Who We Are
A group of loyal believers in God officially organized the “First Methodist Episcopal Church” of Attica, Michigan in 1868. It was through their continuing prayers and a vision, that God would provide a Church building for Sunday worship and weekly gatherings. This Church was finished and dedicated in March of 1874.
Today, we are blessed to have Pastor Ron Rouse who has been leading us in Worship and Faith since July 2013. Each week our average worship attendance is around 53 folks, which has been on the increase since Pastor Ron’s arrival.
We offer one service, at 10:00 a.m. “where kids are expected”. Children begin the service with their parents then Pastor Ron presents them with a children’s message. Afterwards they are dismissed to the supervised toddler room or Sunday School class.
The service contains both video and musically led hymns of praise and typically follows this path;
- Opening Hymn
- Call to Worship
- Opening Prayer
- Passing of the Peace
- Children’s Time
- Worship in Prayer: Praises and Blessings / Pastoral Prayer
- Worship in Giving
- Announcements and Celebrations
- Benediction / Sending Forth
Communion is usually held once a month on the first Sunday. The table of Holy Communion is Christ's table, not the table of The United Methodist Church or that of the local congregation. The table is open to anyone who seeks to respond to Christ's love and to lead a new life of peace and love, as the invitation to the table says.
We have one Coffee Hour a month which is held on the second Sunday after the Service. Here you will find good ol’ Methodist eatin’ along with fine fellowship. This is a sure way to mingle with friends and make new ones.
If you are seeking a Church to grow in or have been away for a while we look forward to having you come in and/or come back to spend a Sunday morning with us. To all who enter, Welcome.
