FEEDING THE COMMUNITY
We continue to support the needs of our Community in several ways through the helping hands of our great volunteers (both members of our Church and Community).
• Food Bank
The Attica Food Bank began as a response to the need in our communityr as well as an urging to be God's people in Service.
It is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Church Fellowship Hall.
At this time we are serving Attica Township residents ONLY, who are age 65 and over, have a valid Bridge Card and meet income eligibility requirements.
We ask that you show proof of residency, proof of the people who live in your home and proof of income.
• Dinner @ AUMC
When one of the members of the Church expressed the desire to serve dinners at the Church, it took almost a year to bring it to the table. But hard work and patience paid off when the first dinner was served in September of 2010. Let us cook for you as you are invited to spend the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month for Dinner @ AUMC (a free community offering) beginning at 4:30 p.m.. Folks are known to come early for coffee and fellowship until dinner is served.
• Harvest Dinner
The Church is known to this day for its annual Harvest Dinner which dates back to the late 1930’s. Over time the fare varied from chicken to roast beef and even one (and only one) year chop-suey was served. Turkey is now the dinner of choice and the congregation all come together to make this annual event a success!
FEEDING THE SPIRITS
Our mission statement reminds us that we are "A place where love works to transform the people's lives for Jesus Christ". Throughout the week we offer different ministries to help feed those spirits.
• Bible Study Groups
We currently have two studies in progress, Sunday morning at 8:45 am or Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm. Both studies follow the same adventure, and usually change every 6-8 weeks.
• Sewing Group
A dedicated group of ladies AND men who along with their talents have contributed hundreds of hours in making pillow case dresses, fleece comforters, knitted and crochet baby hats/blankets for area shelters and over-sea missions.
• Other Assistance
Please note: We do not have the ability to provide funding assistance. If this kind of help is needed, the best place to call is Love, INC at (810) 245-2414.
